A website redesign for Island Pacific School β an independent middle school on Bowen Island, BC β focused on modernising the design, strengthening the admissions journey, and improving navigation for prospective families.
About the Project
Island Pacific School is a distinctly different independent middle school for students aged 11β14 on Bowen Island, BC. Their mission is to give young people a strong foundation for later education and life. The project began as a three-page demo for the school board and grew into a full homepage redesign that went live with board approval.
The Challenge
The existing website didn't do justice to the school's unique character. Navigation was unclear, the design felt dated, and there was no clear call to action for prospective families. The goal was to modernise the look and feel while staying true to the school's existing branding β and to make it easy for parents in Bowen Island, North and West Vancouver to take the first step toward enrolment.

Our approach
Board Demo & Design Mockups
Created three-page design mockups β Home, What Makes Us Different, and Admissions Overview β modelled on the Vancouver Waldorf School site structure. Presented to the board and received approval.
Full Homepage Redesign
Rebuilt the homepage in WordPress with a stronger visual hierarchy, clearer navigation, admissions call-to-action above the fold, and refined typography to match the school's warm, welcoming tone.
Navigation & Structure
Restructured the site navigation based on a detailed spreadsheet provided by the client, improving findability for prospective families.
Post-Launch Support
Fixed a broken donation link, resolved server performance issues, and provided ongoing maintenance support after go-live.
